History: Surfed since about 10 years old in Wales. Competed a little when younger but only local events since about the age of 17. Traveled to South Africa, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Europe, Canaries on numerous occasions free surfing. Best Trip was for my brother’s stag do to the Mentawaii islands – awesome waves with ten of my best mates on the Indies Explorer – it was sick.

Additional:
Surfing in Wales is pretty hardcore, in the winter it gets pretty cold 5mm suits gloves boots and hats - hence lots of traveling abroad to warm countries.

Grace, speed, style and the freakish ability to sneak himself into even the smallest barrels, Gareth “Guff” Vaughan is more than meets the eye. His relaxed approach to life flies right out the window when he hits the water constantly pushing new boundaries of surfing and his own personal style. With his absolute love for life and surfing great waves, Guff is always amped no matter what the conditions, he is the first in the water and the first to the pub to celebrate.

When he is not in the water Guff can be found working hard at the family owned printing company in Cardiff. Never afraid of hard work, Guff is always quick to save up the cash and bolt from his home break of Llantwit Major to destroy some of the most exotic waves on the planet. Guff can usually be found around Indo, France, South Africa, The Canaries or running from immigration control Australia. Wherever he is, he will dominate the line up and score some of the sickest barrels you have ever seen.
